Karma strikes. Am still at Liard. No one will stop.
Have made it through Skookumchuck, Radium Junction, Lake Louise & Jasper, Prince George & Dawson Creek (where the Alaska Highway begins.) I heard hitch-hiking is difficult on the highway and beyond but I've had no delays thus far (though I have seen more than my fair share of aimless travelers with outstretched thumbs.) I have just arrived in Liard River Hotsprings, and I intend to take a swim before continuing into the Yukon Territory. Regardless of what I've heard, I expect no delays. Soon, I will truly be able to get back to nature.
Have just crossed the Canadian border at some town in British Columbia. Still heading North.
Departed Carthage in Mack truck (sunflower seed shipment?) The journey is officially underway! This ride was easy enough to hitch and I can't imagine it getting anymore difficult. The bush awaits me, and though I have minimal supplies I feel I will be fine.
Escape is near. Escape from the empty void that is today's society. They claim it's all "get a job, get married, have kids, settle down." But there's so much more to do than that. |
