I made it to Fairbanks! Took some convincing but a man named Gaylord Stuckey gave me a lift. At first he refused to drive me at all, then he agreed to take me to Whitehorse, and finally he said he would bring me all the way to Fairbanks. It was a long, slow drive and while I shouldn't have I may have shown him bits of myself. Guy kept asking about Dad though, as if kids ever want to speak of parents, estranged or not. Especially one who can't stay tied down to one woman, something which is so difficult. Why even get married? Anyway, Stuckey also bought me a bag of rice, though I'd do just fine without it. I plan to go up to the university, study up on edible plant life.
