Camped last night and was promptly picked up shortly after awakening today. Jim Gallien is a good man and dropped me off as far into the Stampede Trail as he could manage. He also gave me his meal, two sandwiches and some corn chips. Perhaps there are still good people in this world.
Most of my pack is taken up by books. About 10, thanks to Jan. Tolstoy, Thoreau, Gogol.
I hope to reach the river by midday tomorrow, though the trail looks difficult to maneuver as it seems to have been used very little as of late.
